Connect Sysco

Connect Sysco's EDI feed so its invoices arrive in DishBooks as bills.

Sysco invoices, straight into DishBooks

Connect Sysco once and every Sysco invoice shows up in DishBooks as a bill, line by line, soon after you place an order. This guide covers the Sysco-specific details. For the full picture, see Vendor integrations.

Before you start

  • Ask your Sysco sales rep for EDI invoice access. They’ll send a username plus a password or a private key (and sometimes a passphrase). Give yourself a few days.
  • Know your Sysco account numbers. Each location Sysco delivers to has its own account (ship-to) number.
  • Your locations are set up in DishBooks.

Step 1 Connect Sysco

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect on the Sysco card.

  2. The server details are filled in for you (host sb2b.sysco.com, port 22, directory /Outbound). Leave them as they are.

  3. Under Vendor, choose Sysco from your vendor list, or click + New to add it.

  4. Enter the Username from your Sysco rep, then either the Password or the Private key (plus Private key passphrase if you were given one).

  5. Switch on Receive invoices from this partner and click Save.

DishBooks pulls from Sysco once a day. After the first pull, Connection health shows how it went.

Step 2 Match your Sysco ship-to codes

Once invoices start arriving, your Sysco account numbers appear under Ship-to codes on the same page. Match each one to the DishBooks location it delivers to.

Step 3 Approve your Sysco bills

Sysco invoices land in Expenses → Bills as Pending, with every line item. Check each one, click Accept, then Approve.

Sysco questions

My rep isn’t sure what I’m asking for.
Ask for EDI invoice delivery (X12 810 invoice files) by sFTP for your accounting software. That’s the technical name for it.
I have several Sysco accounts.
One connection covers them all. Each account shows up as its own ship-to code for you to match.
I get Sysco invoices through MarginEdge already.
Then skip this connection, or you may get Sysco bills twice.
